So Friday we recieved word of our bonuses and much to everyone's surprise, we're getting one this year. More importantly we're getting normal sized ones not "company is in a financial squeeze" sized bonuses.
With this pleasant news, I struck out to make my big purchase for the ski season, which is a new set of AT boots. I had decided that I was going to go big and get the Garmont Endorphins and not feel guilty about it. Armed with my MasterCard and a new sense of purpose I headed out expecting to come home with a pair.
Turns out the smallest size that this hair-brained company makes in this style is a 25 (US 8.5). I'm at most a 24 (US 8). What the hell? So now I'm left with having to try and find an alternative brand, which may not make as stiff a boot, or I could go with the ladies version of these boots. Normally, I'd have no problem with this, except here's the boot.
The colour is fine, even the Warrior Princess name, Xena, is fine. Where I'm having my doubts is with the big "Femme" plastered on the side. Was that really necessary? Do women really need to have their ski boots telling them they are "Femmes". I guess I'm going to have to get real comfortable with my "femme" side if I'm going to take the plunge with these boots. That, and I'm just going to have to find a backcountry ensemble that matches them.

The last Christmas bonus that I recieved was $10, except they did something so that taxes were taken out. I got a bonus check for $9.78... Next time, I'll take a stick in the eye instead, thanks.
As for teh Femme thing, I rode a pink road bike for years with shaved legs. Eventually you get used to the comments. Consider it an opportunity to build your come-backs.
